New Year New Team

After seeing the 2022 reveal video, our team has been working hard to overcome the challenges in Rapid React. In case you haven’t seen the video, our robot will have to be able to either shoot balls into the top basket that is 8 feet above the ground or roll into the bottom basket trying to not get hit and will have to be able to load balls as quickly as possible. Later, our bot has to hang and climb a series of elevated bars.

We took the shooting mechanics from ISSAC, a past robot, and adjusted it to shoot high enough and make baskets in our gyms basketball hoop. We made our intake system on the ground so we don’t have to load the robot by person. The shooting system is very closely related to a haybale launcher which is where we took the idea from. We are using a driving system called swerve drive which allows our robot to move diagonally and has better control.
