In the coming weeks (March 3-5) we are going to be participating in a competition at Kettering University. This competition is a practice for the upcoming 2022 robotics season. It will feature many teams around the area locally and will also feature some college teams competing against us.
We had a Zoom meeting with a representative from Kettering University telling about what Kettering has to offer. They have a program where you spend 3 days learning and 3 days working on the job that you are interested in. This allows you to get hands-on experience with engineering in the field you chose.
Our build team this week has finished up building the robot. With a few small practices they got it ready to pass onto the programming team. The build team has been working hard at completing the shooting and intake systems.
The programming team has probably been the hardest at work this week. They were working on going through hundreds of lines of code to find the ones that would work best for the robot. They are currently working out bugs in the code to make our intake and shooting mechanism work.
There is still more to come for this Freeland Robotics team. Check back next week for more updates on the 5166 team.
