Freeland at Worlds

This year, Freeland robotics got the honor of participating in worlds in Houston, Texas. We had a great time even with many things malfunctioning. We all had a great time and learned many lessons.

After states, we had to pack Esock in a crate and send him off to Houston. After getting there, we got to unpack and get ready to compete. In the end, our robot did not preform the way we had planned for it from wiring being messed up to even to robot tipping over. This didn’t stop our team from having a good time however, we were able to shake it off and prepare for the next round to come. We had learned a lot of lessons while there that we will carry with us forever.

While there, we didn’t only go to the competition, but explored around Texas as many of us have never been there before. We went to a lot of things like arcades, baseball games, and even indoor skydiving. This allowed for our team to bond more and become more of a family. The team got to go to a lot of new places to eat. The baseball game was between the Astros and Toronto Bluejays, and was a very fun experience for everyone even if they didn’t know baseball. Indoor skydiving was by far to most fun experience there. The team got to feel what it’s like to fly and also got graded on how well they did.

Overall, it was an amazing experience for everyone. Our team got to experience a lot of new things and grow together as a team. With all of these lessons learned and bonding experiences, we will be coming back as a stronger, better team.
